The Oregon Salmon Commission was established by an act of the Oregon Legislature in 1983 and is an industry-funded agency that operates under the umbrella of the Oregon Department of Agriculture's Commodity Commission Program.

The Oregon Salmon Commission is holding Special Meetings along the Oregon coast with commercial ocean salmon fishermen and ocean charter boat operators to discuss potential 2008 federal disaster assistance.

Meeting Locations/Dates:

Charleston: May 12 at 10:00 a.m. Charleston RV Park

Winchester Bay: May 13 at 10:00 a.m. at Bedrocks on the Bay (formerly Pizza Ray's)

Depoe Bay: May 14 at 4:00 p.m. at the Depoe Bay Community Hall

Newport: May 19 at 7:00 p.m. at the Newport Public Library (35 NW Nye Street)

Pacific City: May 20 at 6:00 p.m. at the Pacific Coast Bible Church (35170 Brooten Rd.)

Garibaldi: May 22 at 6:00 p.m. at Garibaldi City Hall

Port Orford/Gold Beach/Brookings: May 21 at 3:00 p.m. Gold Beach City Hall

Astoria: May 22 at 3:00 p.m. Englund Marine Supply, 95 Hamburg Ave., Astoria
