NOAA starts nationwide listening sessions

July 19, 2018 Top agency leaders will embark on a series of public conferences held across the nation from August through November 2018.

These meetings will provide information about the implementation of the Department of Commerce’s 2018-2022 Strategic Plan, and also offer you the opportunity to give your input. Topics will include the Weather Research and Forecasting Innovation Act of 2017, reducing the seafood trade deficit, and supporting maritime commerce, fisheries, recreation, and tourism.

Preliminary details are listed below. Times and locations will be posted on this site in advance of each meeting. These meetings are physically accessible to people with disabilities. Requests for sign language interpretation or other auxiliary aids should be directed to listen.sessions@noaa.gov at least 10 working days prior to the meeting date.

Agenda: To discuss advancing commercial and recreational fisheries, technology development and tourism.

Wednesday, September 12, Madison, Wisconsin – Due to the anticipated landfall of Hurricane Florence, the Madison listening session will be rescheduled for a later date.
